At Avista, we aim to uphold person-centred living and choice for everyone.
Both Avista campus based residential supports and community residential supports, actively support building and maintaining family connections and meaningful relationships with people who reside and members of the community. Each person is supported to develop a person-centred plan which sets out their personal goals and any supports required in order to achieve their goals and live meaningful lives.
Active citizenship is central to the vision for the people we support in community settings. Examples of active citizenship activities include membership in local clubs and social groups, diversity celebrations, voting in elections and other civic activities as directed by the people supported to live independent lives.
